EVEN MORE !! You better do your home work and be
at the special forum Thursday, Jan. 24, at 7p.m. in the MHS North Gym.
The corporation has presented a study by Indiana State University See
FULL
STUDY HERE .
Seems that the school
age children population for Morgan County will peak around 2007
as seen in Table 3 of this report then decline 7.5 % buy 2025.
For some reason all other projections and tables only list the data
of the growth years up to 2008. Not sure why no projections for
Mooresville School District through 2025 were provided but since this
district is responsible for the most of the past growth one could
assume the below table will apply to the district also. In fact the total enrollment for the school district 2007-2008 is already at a three year low ( see Chart )
First Question IS : Why ask the
district Taxpayers to pay $500.00, $800.00 or ? a year for new
buildings when the projections show a declining student population ?
Couple this with the following factors not mentioned in the study and the decline the the student burden could be far greater than -7.5%.
As you can see in the report the Home Schooling trend has sky rocketed
(more than 1600% ) since 1995 and should continue to climb as parents
sacrifice and seek an better education for their children. At this
current rate of increase (Stats ) in Home Schooling there would be 2,320 less
student in the school system in 2018. Rather or not this moral trend
will continue is yet unknown but in any case should have an impact in
the future decline in enrollment of the MCSD and must be considered in
the same light as the past 10 year student population growth used in
the study. We also must consider the growth rate of our private schools
in the districts which are high and not mentioned in the study.
Since this study was completed before the record county
income tax increase this summer these numbers don't seem to take into
account the slowing growth the county will experience from the much
higher tax burden. It also seems to neglect the staggering
statistics with the sub-prime mortgage problems, declining building permits and the large
inventory of vacant houses in the district. Also, development land
availability is slowly coming to a halt due to they more than
tripling in the value of crops grown for bio-fuel use. This alone
will stop the train on urban sprawl the district is still counting
on.

Since the projected growth for the district through
2025 was mysteriously left out of this report one could believe they
mimic the county numbers. Maybe not. But, one could say there isn't
enough supporting data to approve of doubling the average property
tax for a projected decline in student population. After all,
this will mean that after all is said and done the Taxpayers in this
district will be paying around $1500.00 plus more annually ( 2007
Income tax increase and this newly proposed Property Tax increase )
Also, the Governor seems agreeable to a cut in Property Tax but must
increase our Sales Tax. This would negate any relief our
citizen would otherwise have had.
We have brought up a half a dozen important factors which didn't seem
to be due consideration in the report for the projected need for this
project. Their rush is on for newer and bigger buildings and for this
reason alone we have the responsibility to force the answers and
recalculate the projections applying the new factors mentioned above.
The report did mention a good quality school system attracts growth
both in the residential and commercial sector. One would have to agree that
Mooresville's above average 82.4% (2007) down from 89.5 % ( 2006 ) graduation rate means far more to prospective residents than new buildings.
Since so many already had given-up their vacations and reduced
Christmas this year due to the income tax increase and the state is
in the process of reworking the tax system, being slow to approve this
plan would be prudent.
Remember that the majority of our residents are low income earners and can't afford to pay for all the wants of those few that can. We will stand-up for all those in Morgan County that pays taxes.
Our hats are off to the esteemed Community Committee who the hard working School board involved in the development of this plan. We hope everyone maintains an open mind while this discussion continues.
Remember, if the county taxpayers went through this same process of
planning to accommodate new taxes and used recent trends in making
their decisions like used in this school planning process, everyone in the
county would have to move out of the county by 2012 or be completely broke. Then of coarse no schools would be needed. Use a
calculator.
Look at the report FULL

We who have decided to stand
up against the creeping socialism that's infiltrating our country
salute those who have joined the fight, who understands that our
government's first responsibility is to protect us from our enemies,
both from without and also from within and also the free enterprise
system (capitalism) that makes us a free people.
The Declaration of
Independence, among other things, illustrates who, how and why
we proclaim ourselves an independently free nation, while the US
Constitution sets limitations and restrictions on the power of
the government and insures the future of our freedoms. The
enslavement of our citizenry through government assistance is nowhere
to be found in either document.
Ever been to the Smoky Mountain
National Park and watched the short movie called " Don't Feed
the Bears " ? . The reason you can't feed them is that once you
do they no longer will find food for them selves, and will expect you
to provide it for them. If you don't they will break in your camp
site, tents and steel your food. If you get in their way they will
kill you. They'll become such a nuisance and a danger to the public
they eventuality have to be impounded and sometimes put to sleep.
Does this explain socialism, crime, criminals, prison and
the death sentence ?
You see the socialist understand that we are animals
too and know exactly how it works. Government helping us only makes
us a weak and docile criminal people that will permit all those who
feed us, to control us. Ever seen dancing bear acts in the circus ?
Ever wondered how they got there ? The trainers feed them as cubs and
start demanding their compliance to the commands of the circus trainer.
See the
picture ? Are you willing to do some tricks ? or have you.
Republicans are becoming infected with
the same evil socialistic disease that already devoured the Democrat
party. We've seen something even more disturbing and that's a lack of
voter respect. This is when a candidate will use the standard
advertising science of psychology, not participating in debates or
online forums when offered. Once they win the vote through thought
manipulation thats it. The electorate no longer is wanted or needed.
And that's real scary.
This only happens when our elected
servants friends and neighbors aren't holding them personally
responsible in the social arena ie: work, church, on the street, etc.
This is called " Voter Feedback " and what makes local
governance work.
Lets check this scientific
hypothesis with some “ answer the questions “ thought analysis.
- Can you name any group of people in the US
receiving any form of government assistance ?
- Has this group improved their out put
and performance or have they declined and become dependent. ?
- Has it been necessary to increase the
amount of assistants to these groups as time passed ?
- Do the prisons have a higher population
of these assisted groups than the no assisted groups ?
- Is there a higher crime rate among this
group vs those not on assistance ?
- Is there a higher percentage of this
group on death roll for killing someone?
- When comparing areas of the country
with a higher percentage of government assistance with those having a
lower rate, does the areas with the highest assistance rate have a
higher crime rate. ?
New Orleans Louisiana may be the
perfect social laboratory to check this hypothesis.
By all accounts it had the
highest level of government assistance per capita and one of the
highest crime rates in the world, including a murder rate almost
twice that of Baghdad, Iraq.
If when our country was at its poorest
without government handouts ( the great depression ), our crime rate was
at its lowest , then we could assume that the economic standing of a people had no bearing on the crime rate.
Seems the good character of a person
that prevents ones criminal behavior requires the self respect and
confidence one can only develop through faith in God and by working for
what one has, not taking handouts but feeding ones own family from the
fruits of his own labor.
I'm not saying some of our collective local taxes not
be used to help those who have fought for our country who are disabled. They
are our Heroes and we should support them for life in payment for
their service. Nor am I saying those who are Physically or mentally unable
to work be left out in the cold. They are the responsibility of a
civilized socity.
Had enough amature social scientific analysis ? Then lets use some simple common sense.
The US people give more to charity than
all other people in the world combined and the church or community organizations can deal with the core cause of
ones poverty while the government can only perpetuate the problem The American people seem to
take care of those who really need it, though some churches and
organizations have succumb to the governments attempted take over of
this responsibility. While, some churches seemed to have traded taking care
of the members and communities physical needs ( for which the New
Testament authorized collection of members money ) for multi-million
dollar real estate, leaving the government to pay for the social care
of its members, others have
focus on their responsibilities and are still plagued with the
governments competition in this area. This is a gage of the
socialistic effect on community stewardship. Any taxes
collected for this purpose by the government, in part, is at risk in
being used to "Feed the Bears" and enslave
the voting bear, which is the only way socialism can survive.
If we allow ourselves to be fed we will soon follow, just like a bear.
If we as a community would step up and
do a better job taking care of our own, the socialist will have a
harder time penetrating our local community social fabric.
As one can see socialism at any level
is devastating to all people of a society and cannot be tolerated by
any people wanting to live in a safe and free society. Or, ever wanted to be a circus act ?

If the socialist aren't stopped this next election nobody but the
government will have any say over your bodies and what you do with
them. Not you ,not the government doctors, nobody but the government
officials. Then after they pay for your health care they will then be
able to tell you what you can and can't do with your body. Copy this
down and put it on your refrigerator for future reference. I hope
Americans will snap out of this irresponsible trance and save America.
Below is a simple example that anyone can calculate on their own to prove the point.
We don't have an health care problem in this country, we have a
responsibility and values problem. Hospitalization insurance in the
early seventies cost about 12-25% of ones families monthly income
(1972-State Farm Family Plan- No Employer Involvement -$79 Month). Today
in most cases its not even 25% ( See eHealthInsurance Quote ) . The main difference is technology and
consumerism have given us dozens of new things that we have
come to consider necessities. Couple that with the socialist's #1 weapon of
"promoted diminished responsibility" and you get people placing their multiple
cell phones, TV with Cable/Satellite, Fast food, Second Cars, Sony play
stations, internet service ,on and on and on, etc etc etc , ahead of their own
God given responsibility for their family's health care.
No Virginia, the cost of health insurance hasn't gone up, its just that the
values of the people have gone down to a point where they can see their personal responsibility eye to eye.
Yes Virginia, you are about to lose your American freedoms for Eastern
European Socialist Control ( Google socialist ) Also See " Don't Feed the Bears "

In June 2006 two members of the
Martinsville Plan Commission drafted a 40-page “ Historic
Preservation Ordinance in hopes of controlling the historical
properties in Martinsville, In. The planning commission might hold a
hearing in October of 2007.
This involves three eliminates of
government intrusion in the Martinsville citizens pursuit of freedom.
(1).- Non-controllable government
control of our property. (2).- The spending of taxpayers money for
private property improvements. ( don't believe this won't take
place). (3).- The taking of all citizens money against their will and
giving it to a few while furthering the special interest projects of
a planning commission member by the city purchasing private property
and ........
