All votes are in: School projects defeated PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 20 May 2009
Image By Guest Blogger Liberty--- Well it seems the system as it was intended works. As a community we have many very happy and many very sad but that's what happens every election and this is no different. Those who have worked so hard to defeat this tax raping must be congratulated. CrossPac and others put the lives and business on the line and as a community we need to show them thanks.

I know a beautiful and wonderful young lady who let me stick a vote NO sign in her front yard in Heartland Crossing and she caught the.. dickens for it at first but as the young families learned the detail they turned completely around and became No voters. I'm glad this most wonderful apple of my eye regained her friends and my hat is off to all who found themselves in similar positions and stuck their necks out for the community and it's children.

Well now it looks like we need to start the campaign to replace the school board as soon as possible with some fresh blood that will put the children's real education ahead of New fancy ( keep up with the Jones) building projects. Maybe we can find some who will hold a superintendent responsible for the simple maintenance of school buildings. It was amazing the reports I heard from the polling place of how bad some of the schools have been neglected. One story stuck out about one school and how the janitor neglected his cleaning chores so badly he let mold form in the shower and buildup to the point he just put trash bags over the shower and closed it down. Some stories involved just not doing simple "honey do" maintenance . The school board now needs to search for a new superintendent with qualifications showing good building maintanence and logistical skills in hall time scheduling.

I hope everyone won't stop at just this because they'll be back. Next year will roll around faster than we think. But also,  we need to start taking control of all forms of government in our grasp. The towns and county need to understand the power of the people in the next election. Cut services if you don't have the money and NOT RAISE TAXES.  We have the power to wake up these weak politicians who haven't used any leadership to stand up and do cutting instead of taxing.  I'm glad to see the people here putting a "grade you elected official " poll together. I hope the can expand it to the whole county so the politicians can see what their electorate thinks of the job they do.

Of coarse I can't leave without reminding those with children to help the school situation in the county and your child's life by looking into home schooling or at least the fantastic $250.00 month deal at Tabernacle Christian school in Martinsville. This is a great value in education and when they start teaching perversion in the public schools in the next couple of years you won't be scrambling to find room.

They will be back next year. Don't let your guard down.

I've heard some of the same from other students.
