Our Position Statement
1.
Our goal is to monitor, keep informed
and hold accountable socially and at the polls our much appreciated public
servants who tax our citizens, spend our wages and are entrusted to manage this business called Government.
2. We believe in generating needed
revenue by
increasing the economic activity in the county through soliciting &
promoting manufacturing
and retail activity and not by reducing the revenue generation activity by lowering
the spendable amount one has to fuel this needed income by increasing their tax burden.
3. We believe that like any business which relies on their customer for
much needed income that by Morgan County dramatically raising their
prices ( taxes ) on its services will only reduce the amount their customer can
spend thus reduces our per-capita tax revenue income and have a negative effect on the counties economy.
4. We believe
Morgan County should establish an Economic Board of Advisers
constructed of MBA business and marketing professionals ( not political cronies) to
filter all taxing and
spending and promotional measures through to insure maximum revenue growth and economic
benefit to the county without any additional tax burden. Would one
employee an chemist to invest and manage your life savings ? So why
would one expect a chemist to be able to manage and promote the largest corporation
in the county ?
5. We also believe that all government spending should be done on a "As Needed" basis and not on a " As Wanted " basis.
6. We believe a representatives evaluation is totally dependent on their level of success in accomplishing the above.
7. We believe it is the responsibility and
duty of the individual taxpaying citizens of our county to bring this
statement to fruition through personal and social pressures on our
local government representative neighbor or friend in a friendly, polite and resposible manner, as envisioned by
our founding fathers for local government.
