Plan Commission drafted ordinance to Controlling Historic Properties PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 31 August 2007
In June 2006 two members of the Martinsville Plan Commission drafted a 40-page “ Historic Preservation Ordinance in hopes of controlling the historical properties in Martinsville, In. The planning commission might hold a hearing in October of 2007.

This involves three eliminates of government intrusion in the Martinsville citizens pursuit of freedom.

(1).- Non-controllable government control of our property. (2).- The spending of taxpayers money for private property improvements. ( don't believe this won't take place). (3).- The taking of all citizens money against their will and giving it to a few while furthering the special interest projects of a planning commission member by the city purchasing private property and ........

paying the cost of the operating the commission itself.

This also establishes a precedent in the town goverment being able regulate the use of your private possessions and having you pay for them while doing so. --STOP LISTEN AND THINK----------

Our positive suggestion to the planning commission and town council of Martinsville from local taxpaying voters seeking respect. Include in this ordinance the requirement there will be NO taxpayer money used in funding any part of the commission or its remedies and all remedies are to be only voluntary to the citizens affected. This would mean that the commission would have to solicit private donations from local citizens, organizations and business who finds value in the endeavor. This would show that the town really wants is and not just a few activist.

Remember if it's wanted for the good of a few then it needs to be privately funded.
