Bridges over Morgan County

For the past several year we have sat through the debate on I69 and how to spend the federal highway funds on new and exiting interstate highway that some governors name will be on. After listening to our all our governors future plans on this monument one must come to the conclusion that it has more to do with something thats wanted more than needed. This highway is needed by US companies shipping jobs out and illegal aliens in. This means it fails the taxpayer test.

One can conclude, after seeing the exposed bridge conditions and inspection results, that these funds should be used to make safe the infrastructure now in place and not build future monuments to their administrations. After our hazardous bridges are really safe then look beyond. This is what the councils "public safety" money should be spent on instead of new real estate that we can get by without. Which also fails the taxpayers test. !Discuss this article on the forums. (1 posts)

What ever happened to this issue ? Are they waiting for a bunch of us to die
before they fix our bridges? Guess a 6 million dollar garage to park our fire
trucks in must mean more than we do.

I think all county officials should come together and create a special
commission to look at this from all angles as a collective. As we can see not
even the best engineers can tell if a bridge won't fall. Some just think they
can.
